The GTOs

GTO: Girls Together Outrageously The GTOs were a group of groupies who were considered for a time the queens of Sunset Strip during the late 60s and early 70s. The group consisted of Miss Pamela (the famed Pamela Des Barres), Miss Sparky (Linda Sue Parker), Miss Lucy (Lucy McLaren), Miss Christine (Christine Frka), Miss Sandra (Sandra Leano), Miss Mercy (Mercy Fontenot, aka Judith Edra Peters) and Miss Cynderella (Cynthia Cale-Binion).
The girls were noticed for their outrageous and unique and became gems of Frank Zappa when he produced their first and only album, Permanent Damage, even though the girls were not known singers. The album was particularly successful, but the music was quite different than the other music being released at the time. You could even go out on a limb and call it groundbreaking.
I hope to most a more in depth post about this group of girls, but this is a start.
